Familiarity and authenticity. More decisive style and more truthful clothing. The Alberta Ferretti Fall/Winter 2013-14 collection represents the purest Alberta Ferretti style of
today. It is a call to a style that is elegant, and to an elegance that is effortless because it is instinctive and natural.
“I am convinced that today's fashion needs to have that strong authenticity that can only derive from the recognisability of the designer. My fashion story is composed of chapters of femininity, of sensuality and of lightness. On this basis I have built a collection that elaborates on my style in the rapid complexity of today’s constantly changing reality." says Alberta Ferretti. Proposing a return to that natural elegance that the language of fashion defines as effortless, literally without effort. This is the authentic Alberta Ferretti that exists stylistically with the origins of the brand and the natural development of its history..
It is this call to authenticity and recognition that leads to an elongated and linear silhouette, with varying lengths; short or full length, and developed with meticulous construction using light and aery volumes. This is obtained with overlapping layers of chiffon that do not give rise to rigidity but to the juxtaposition of solid and fluid, heavy and light, creating an optical illusion anchored in reality: as short skirts with layers of ruffles seem to swell, so long dresses seem to float at a distance on the lines of the body. While the embroideries on the laser cut felt dresses have a precious three-dimensional effect defining the lateral lines or pockets.
Dresses, jackets and coats, constructed with unique sartorial details in typical Ferretti style, take advantage of fabrics like shiny silk velvet, laser cut felt, layered delicate chiffon, an embroidered tulle and a new subtle window pane tartan check.
A distinct balance of colors, starting from white and black and developing in unusual shades of red, aubergine and purple and a delicate moss green.
The shoes, predominantly flat, pointed ballerinas, are also embroidered with stones and alternate with high-heeled shoes. They are designed to give the clothes a coherent movement with quiet understated, elegance. Once again, effortless.
