A passion for graphics and a fascination for color blocking. Neo-optical is one of the striking themes of the Gianvito Rossi collection for Fall/Winter 2013-14. Be they open- to
e booties or intarsia pumps, the black and white checkerboard motif will be a must-have element in the wardrobe next season. Paying homage to Victor Vasarely's Op-Art of the sixties, the collection also features cut- out and see-through styles.
Bold new geometric shapes include the architectural heel inspired by Gio Ponti's lines, a precious embellishment of ultra-feminine sandals.
Ankle boots, cuissard boots, mules and ladylike sandals come alive with vibrant color in shiny or matte versions. Besides the necessary black, there is shell, an off-white shade for winter, lead gray, mustard yellow, army green, Tabasco red, indigo blue, warm shades of mink brown and nude spice, a new beige nuance. Trim in a contrasting color, straps, laces, and tassels are understated embellishments. Edgy ankle boots, sharp new booties with side buckles, and brushed calf leather pumps complete the daywear segment besides prêt-à-porter booties that can be slipped on in a wink.
Two clutch styles in the colors and themes of the season complete the collection.
